Hi all, have recently done a disc repair but it still happens. To the person who suggested that I was using IMAP, that could well be the reason because when setting up my two accounts with apple mail, by default it chose IMAP and if they have problems at times then that's probably why its slow.

Hi. I think I had this issue also yesterday when I had to restart my mac. I closed all apps, including mail. every app closed except mail, wich closed after a minute or so. (I am using also imap on my 2 computers and on my iPhone). Kõike paremat soovides With best regards Jakob Rosin

Hi all, subject explains it all. I have a 13 inch late 2011 Mac Book Pro and am running Lion 7.4 and my Mail version is 5.2 I should also point out that when it takes a while to close I'm thinking about 30sec to a minute which I suppose isn't that long really but I would of expected it to just

Yes, I can confirm this, and I have done a disk repair. In fact, sometimes, when I delete messages, they do not always go to the trash folder. I think there may be issues at times with the G Mail server, as I see reference to the server on occasion. Les On Jun 19, 2012, at 4:21 PM, Daniel

I first would recommendyou go into gmail on the web, then settings, pop/imap forwarding. See if there's a setting there for pop, also look there for instructions,as the port numbers might be different for pop. On apple mails prefs then you'll change your incoming server in accountsgmail to
