I bet verizon will go unlimited once 4G is deployed widely and a new IPhone is
released. Existing 3G space is much more expensive because there's less shared
bandwidth in each cell. I hope we see unlimited or really high caps with 4G.
We have a modem at work that's LTE nd we have LTE service
but 5 gb per months is quite low. I can pull at least 50 on my home hotspot and
that is truely unlimited. OH and that's 50 or more per month. lol!

The interesting part of this is that if AT&T does elect to offer the hotspot
feature, I can bet you that anyone with the unlimited data plan will not be
offered the option. If that is the case, that might push subscribers away. If
AT&T is smart they will either allow the option to everyone regar
I bet if it's in there there will be a way to activate it.

Thether is in the menu but you need to activate the service with your carrier I

As for unlocked, no you need to have the phone unlocked if that's possible. I
do not have a good handle on the procedure yet.
Thanks

Hi,
The article is about mobile hotspots. It doesn't mention tethering. It says
Mobile hotspot will be coming in IOS 4.3. But it will be carrier specific. So
ATT can still shut it down.

Hello,
I just received a new Iphon from the VA yesterday and I saw that it had
tethering in one of the menus. Does this mean that if I started to use it I
would be charged an extra 30 a month? Am I correct in believing that since the
VA purchased the phone straight from apple without a

I could read it fine, and will copy if others cannot.
apparently this feature is only available if the carrier offers it.
at&T does not on the personal level, its an extra $20.
Since the feature is already built into the new verizon phone, they must
plan to offer it for free, its in the settings
I could not read the article as all it shows is a link coded as slash. but if
this happens will we not have to pay for tethering for at&t or VZ
