Ok the new shortcut did not work but upon removing it, the original one no longer works. That is ok. This leads to another question. How to uncover shortcuts that are used to launch 3rd party apps. I have many on the dock but its too crowded to add more so this might be good information

Yes, you can create a shortcut for any item in a menu. If there are submenus you are supposed to be able to separate the menu from the sub menu with -> but I have not gotten that to work. Make sure your capitalization is the same as the menu item you are shortcutting. On 20 December 2016 at 15:

I've not tried to remap one, only map a function that lacked one. But give it a try: System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts, app shortcuts, add. Select the app from the popup menu (vo-left to see it from where you land in the dialog), set the shortcut, and see if it works. Sent from my iPhon
