This is probably what the sales person was confused about. You can get an Apple iPhone app to control the TV but that's not AppleTV. That said, this is the battle currently being waged. Should the TV be 'smart' and support apps, web surfing etc or should it be a dumb screen which you connect to

Go to the app store. Double tap on the search At the bottom of the display. Type in Samsung remote. Double tap the search button. Several possible Samsung remote apps appear. The first one on my search is probably the one the store clerk was talking about. Download the app and see if it is acces
