The questionable connection in the case can also cause one AirPod not to
charge. I’m not even sure what cleans out the case safely.

I am leaning towards it being a problem with the case. I am discussing the
problem with Apple. But you know these intermittent problems. They can be a
real bear to track down. Well reproduce the problem. Well unfortunately it
doesn’t reproduce on a schedule.

Hi!
I was thinking of the audio routing of VoiceOver.
But I don’t think you can route VoiceOver to the phones speaker while listening
to music in your headphones.

Could be an issue with the case.
If the AirPods are not making a good connection with the case, the AirPods may
think they are not in the case, and connect with the phone.
Just an idea.
