Ricardo is totally on the mark here. I have an iPhone, an iPad and an iPod
syncing with the same Library. The restriction is actually the other
direction, that is, you can only sync you iDevice with one iTunes Library.

Does it sync over USB? In the summary tab, is iTunes set to convert songs to
128kbps? I noticed I had to connect the iPhone when this option was checked.
