Hey Ann, thanks, I for some reason didn't realize that the inspector was coming
up, as it used to just pop up, but for some odd reason it stopped doing so, but
when I used the window chooser I was able to get to it. Go figure you always
figure things out right after you post for help. Thanks of
Hello Brian,
You open the inspector with Cmd-Option-i and the one you want is Document which
is the first one. You then want the Info tab. All the stats are there.

Quite a frustrating problem, as this keeps happening. When it works, I can go
to the Edit menu in pages, go down to writing tools and then to show stats.
This opens the inspector where I can view the total number of words to a
document. Well, now once again, I can't get this inspector
