my email account and it immediately became busy. It behaves no differently than
the other, although at first I thought it might. Is there anything else I can
try? I notice you cannot delete the mail.app file.

The only thing I can add to Tim's post is to make sure the port settings for
imap is set to 993 incoming and 465 for SMPT (outgoing). Like Tim said, the
settings should have migrated over with no issues, but it's worth a look at the
setings.

The settings did my great with no problem. Also the mail does seem to be there
the inbox counselor reported correctly. The mail app goes busy before I can do
anything with any of it. I will try what Marcus suggested.

First, I’d try creating another account on your computer. Go under System
Prefs to Users Groups, click to unlock the preference, then click on the Add
User button. After the user has been created, logout of your current user and
login as the new user. Try using Mail from within there
