I’m using cmd r not cmd option r so it’s getting Yosemite from some where.
Either way it’s bloody slow downloading and I’ll run with it now and see what
happens.

Hi,
If it is trying to install Yosemite, then it is most likely using an Internet
Recovery option instead of the local recovery partition. I did state the
commands incorrectly in my last post, it should be cmd-option-r for Internet
recovery.

Hello Simon,
My husband had a similar problem last Friday. He had to try a couple of times
before Cmd-r would work. After the language chooser screen, if it asks for the
network password, you should be good to go.
