Hi,
You used to be able to do this from a Contextual menu in Apple Mail as well but
they removed that functionality about a year ago for some reason. There's
always some good rationale for removing these nice features according to the
developers, we just aren't in the loop I guess.

Thanks Teresa, that is actually what I was looking for, although in windows
using outlook express or Microsoft Outlook, you could do this from the context
menu.

Another possible way to do this assumes that you have quoted text in the reply.
If you do, reply to a message, find the sender's email address in the body of
the message, copy it, delete the list address in the "to" field, and paste in
the address you copied.
