Hey all,
Not sure where they moved how to do this as there used to be check box to do
this in Mountain Lion. Doesn’t anyone know where they moved this to? Not sure
why it wouldn’t be in the save as window somewhere. Not sure why they have to
hide stuff like this, really frustrating. Thanks

Hi Brian.
You have to go to export as, and chose word. Its silly, but that’s how its done
now.

Hey all,
Thanks Matt, I guess that will be another thing I hate about Mavericks. Thanks
Apple for making more work for me instead of simply checking a check box.

Hey Matt,
Ok, I found export and to microsoft word, and I move VO and space on it and
nothing happens. What else am I supposed to do as I have to send my pages
documents as word documents to people. This really sucks. What genius at Apple
thought this was better than a checkbox.

Brian, the export feature was around before Mavericks. I'm running Mountain
lion and I have to use the same procedure if I want to export a document to
word. So while there are problems with Mavericks from everything I've read,
this is not one specific to it.

Not sure what you are talking about as I used Pages daily in Mountain Lion and
anytime I wanted to save a document as a Pages document all I had to do was
open the save dialogue and put a check in the box that said save as a word
document, try putting a check in the disclosure box in the save
I usually save documents to Rich text format going through the export option. I
also see the option to save the pages within that dialogue. I didn't realize
you could save the method you describe. I also generally used TextEdit. So my
mistake.

Hi,
It’s sort of a Mavericks thing but really a newest version of Pages thing. The
version of Pages from Mountain Lion was upgraded in Mavericks and this change
was made. It’s not actually any more complicated than going under the File
menu, down to Export, over and down to Word then
Don't forget: if export as has no shortcut key, you can assign one yourself.
I don't use Pages so am not sure if it does or not, but if not you can easily
set one up.

No big deal was just pointing it out to you. Not sure why they went with the
export only option. I finally got it to work, but had to quit pages as the
export option wouldn’t come up when clicking on it, wow this is going to take a
little getting used to.
