something called PHY Mode which will tell you how you're connected. Mine
for example says 802.11N which is my wifi connection to the Airport base

• Model of each machine, amount of RAM, version of OS.
• Go into the Utilities folder, open Network Utility, make sure that the WIFI
Interface is selected and under the Info tab, confirm the network speed for
each machine.
