When I go to the app store on my osx 10.10.4 machine it says there are
no updates available. Maybe they are rolling it out in waves and my n
umber hasn't come up yet.

A combo Update will take any level of the current OS up to the latest level. If
an update done the usual way goes wrong somehow, doing the combo update can
sort things out. The current one is to be found at:

They’ve messed up a few times now with supporting each hardware instance, and I
wouldn’t be surprised if you’re just on the tail end of that. That’s
