Oh, I should have thought of that, but the rotor never crossed my
mind. Well, one more option to keep in my bag of tricks. Thanks.

Try turning on quick nav, using the rotor to navigate to words or characters
with left and up arrow or up and right arrow. then you can use up/down arrow
to go forward or back through words or characters.

Thanks, I did learn a lot. I also happened across a whole bunch of numpad
commander commands I never knew were there. I'm going back into that menu to
see what else there is! Now I just have to remember it all so I can start using
it...

Hello Alex,
To learn more about text navigation, do VO-h-h and look at the Text menu.
You'll learn how to navigate by character, word, line, sentence and paragraph,
as well as discovering other useful commands.
Cheers,
Anne

I never knew that. I'm learning so much this week... can't wait to get my
monitor plugged back in so my mac can really blaze! Serena made it much better
than with Alex, plus I can turn the speed up more... A screen and Mountain Lion
will be great. Okay, ramble over.

I get the vo-c and vo-w commands, which I didn't know (or had forgotten).
However, if I interact with a tweet, I can't move past the first word. Is there
a way I can do this? VO obviously sees the text, because it reads the first
word fine with vo-w, but I can't get it to move to subsequent word
Hit reply before I was done; sorry. An interesting trick you can do when you
cannot, for whatever reason, interact with or highlight a patch of text you
want VO to spell, is to use the VO Shift C command to copy the last phrase to
the pasteboard, then paste that into a blank TextEdit document.
One way to do this is to spell letter by letter with VO C, which can also be
pressed again to give a phonetic of the letter--Tango for T, for example. VO W
will do the same thing for a word the VO cursor is on.

Hi all,
How can I spell text under the vo cursor? I tried interacting with it, but
arrow keys did nothing (quicknav was off). When I say text, I mean any text,
such as a tweet in Yorufukouru (you know the app I mean) or an option in a
menu. In a windows screen reader, the equivalent functionalit
