Correct. That's why you need adapters to go from USB type A, which most drives
and other connectors still are for now, to the new USB type C. Thunderbolt is
just a speed standard defining the speed of data transfer over the port, it's
not a physical aspect
No, they actually only have USB-C ports which handle only thunderbolt 3
