If we stored the "thislanguage" as metadata, it would *not* be
translatable through the Launchpad translation interface, but that's the
point. It would stop people who aren't familiar with Mahara, from
changing that string through the web interface.

It's worth noting, langconfig.thisvalue is a high-visibility string. It
shows up in the dropdown menu that lets users select which language they
want to use, which makes it *very* confusing if it doesn't have the
correct name for the language.

A similar thing happened with the Spanish language pack a few weeks back
-- someone changed langconfig.thislanguage from "Espanol" to "Ingles".
So clearly people do get confused by it.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any way to "lock down" a
particular language string through the Launchpad
