Check your /etc/exim/configure where directors are called out. You can run exim in debug mode by typing ./exim -d9 -bd, and try sending emails to your list, you will catch the error, my error was in my director, I changed "guest" to "daemon" and was all set. You shouldn't have to recompile eve
