You shouldn’t feel completely ‘locked in’. It’s true that Contacts is tightly
woven into many corresponding apps in Apple’s universe (from Word processing,
spreadsheets, through email and messaging apps all the way to commonality
between different types of products and services,
I appreciate this detailed explanation. I've been trying to figure out WTF was
going on in my Contacts app for a while. This sheds the light that I need.
Honestly, the Contacts app is NASTY but it integrates with everything Apple,
and I have so many Apple devices, I feel pretty locked into it.

Thanks for comments. I take it you mean have a look at r5908 as that’s
the latest Test Build? Looks like 5908 specifically initially addresses
the issue about multiple Emails in contacts which I’m pretty sure
we’ve all experienced in one form or another.

I already use BusyContacts in a way that is very close to what you are
asking for.
When I right-click on one of my BusyContacts tags (which are equivalent
to groups), I see a menu that allows me to Send Email to everyone in
that group, and since Mailmate is my default for email, it just

around, by selecting ALL the items and hitting “Send Blind Email
to…” the selected list. Will keep this in mind.

The app I use instead of Contacts which accesses the database just fine
(and stores is away in its own configuration, BTW) is Busy Contacts. It
uses a different methodology that makes it compatible but separate and
more stable. It uses a tag field so you can sort on the tag. I haven’t

Now I understand. You started in Contacts and then used it in MailMate
by typing the group name as you described. The key then is they’re two
difference apps, one is Contacts, that MailMate takes advantage of by
linking. Yes, it’s what I read in the Help Menu there in MailMate.
