After downgrading to MGOS 2.0.2 I am still not able to display my TIF images
or any WMS features. Therefore I'll conclude that the problem is in my
workflow and will have to go back to searching threads. Supposedly 2.1 can
reproject raster imagery vs. 2.0 so I'll probably upgrade again once I

Your experience seems to confim my suspicions that the problems I have been
having are software related. I am downloading MGOS 2.0.2 and will report on
my findings after the roll back.

Neil,
I was unable to get WMS to work in Maestro. I was able to get it to work in
Map Guide 2009, but only in the layer preview, not in the actual MGOS
viewer. I have uninstalled MGOS and Maestro and I'm about to reinstall the
current versions to see if that helps. I'll let you know.

Getting back on the Mapguide Studio question, I have not found any download
options for the latest version in my subscription service, nor has my
reseller found anything. Autodesk's website says it is only availalble to
Enterprise subscribers. Could that be what you saw Dennis?

Neil_w,
First Civil3D is kinda' sorta' a SUPERSET of Map3d. Civil3d utilizes the
same FDO component. Check versions. Check it out.
Sometimes things have to be done in an instructional and educational way to
find out what the REAL issue is. (hint ... hint)

Hi Dennis,
While I haven't invested years into this endeavor as perhaps you and others
have, I came into it with the expectation that I could get a website up and
running in a few days or weeks, not years, based on what I saw and heard in
a presentation. After running into so many issues I am sta
Neil_w,
First, most of the folks who have responded to you have spent YEARS with
this stuff so I would relax a little on the “I’m all discouraged” line. Our
years to your days … really won’t get any traction on this forum.
If you have Autodesk subscription service for Map3d 2010 you can download
I new to Mapguide Open Source. Last week I installed MGOS 2.1 and am having
problems displaying both .tif and .sid images via Maestro. I am also having
problems loading features from WMS servers.
I don't know if my problems are user error or software bugs, although I
confirmed part of my problem
Since we have multiple Map3d 2010 licenses, a MapGuide Enterprise 2010
license and a current active membership to Autodesk ADN I attempted the
following educational experiment and had GREAT success.
I copied Autodesk's Raster provider from Map3d 2010 via:
Autodesk.Raster.3.4

FME can be useful when generating a config file manually from a directory of
images.
I was not successful in getting your image to display either, even when
manually setting the extents, CRS, etc. On the positive side, it's a good
test case for a developer... :(

Can you provide me with a place to download one of the orthos (email
me directly) and if possible small shp/sdf in same area.
Also, it would be great if you could put this detail into an existing

this so the more data the better.
All of the XML retrieval was done w/Maestro. It looks like you hit the nail

Thank you. Yes, when I failed during my first load-and-go attempt I found
the trac ticket and everything else that I could find. I THINK I followed

I think (but am not 100% sure) that when you combine 2.1 and the raster
provider, something gets messed up when adding images that don't have a
coordinate system assigned to them (or interpretable by the GDAL provider)
and the image bounds aren't returned correctly. I'm guessing MapGuide is
using
My MrSIDs all worked right out of the box (this was a first for MGOS
updates, for me). I had them working fine on a different 2.0
server...made a package of my library, unpacked to the new 2.1 server
(different box) and it worked fine. My MrSIDs are all in unmanaged
folders, for what it's worth
MrSids work. Trevor is going to write up what Jonathon and I had to do... you
can look at the traq ticket if you don't want to wait for the writeup.
