I understand MapInfo is talking with the Viagra people about it.

Hi All
Has anyone noticed their grabber not responding
for no reason or is this a quirk of my setup. This happens often on my machine
and to kick the grabber out of sleep mode one has to click on another tool or
two or zoom in and out and then have a go? This is starting to become a real
Yes, I did that as normal practice anyway.
It's not a big deal and doesn't worry me, as we don't run this on a regular
basis.
If it comes to that I will re-write it (and give it some more thought :-)
Thanks,
Andreas

Hi,
Maybe one of you coordinate system gurus could help me out on this one:
I a co-worker with a program called Modflow which uses a Non-Earth (origin
0,0) coordinate system. My map data is in State Plane NAD27 (we're a
Lambert Conformal Conic state). I need to specify X and Y offsets for the

I am not certain this is entirely true. I have been spending time trying to
better understand what Oracle's 8i is all about and in particular how we in
the MapInfo matrix might gain the opportunity offered. I beleive the answer
is via Java and Oracle's 8i Lite. Oracle Lite is essentiall
I'm perplexed. The following line of code works if I add a breakpoint to my
MapBasic program and paste the line of code into the MapBasic window, but
it will not work in the compiled code.

Looks like MI does not support Windows CE for MapX. But they do not
discourage anyone from trying it either. Has anybody tried this with any
success?

I have a country level map that is shaded with a dot density

How (in MB) do I zoom to the closest view of the entire layer

Hi all,
I'm looking for a resource of Visual Basic objects
that can be used to build cheap and cheerful frontends and perform simple tasks
on data. If we haven't got a VB&MI site shall we pool together to collate
one?

Anyone ever run accross some half-meter digital orthophoto samples?
1-meter DOQs abound, but I am trying to do a mockup and higher
resolution would be better. I would like a typical suburban setting
showing houses and streets. I only need one tile at least 1/2 mile x
1/2 mile.

What happens if you perform all your queries to a
specifically-named temporary table? E.g. instead of:
select * from MyTable where MyField = SomeValue
you use:
select * from MyTable where MyField = SomeValue into TMP
Then you can access the values in TMP just like any table, and
you are only c

Hi there Brad
I have had almost exactly the same problem. After several e-mails to both
this list and MapInfo TechSupport I finally got the answer. Cindy at
TechSupport fiddeled around with the problem and found out that if you
