What are the impications of reading Oracle 8i with MapX. Do you need to
create the .TAB files first with MapInfo, or can you read directly?
Can ProViewer read Oracle 8i?
How difficult is it to set up a test enviroment without spending lot of $$$

Bring in the Access as an ODBC table, then the Spatial as a MapInfo table.
Do a SQL join between the two tables. Then save that as a new table. Next
time open the saved table. This will keep the join.
Be warned unless you have a unique key in the Access table you will not get

I just spent the last half hour on MapInfo's web site trying to find a
price list. Are the prices so high that they are reluctant to post them
on their web site? Based on some of the posts I saw on MAPINFO-L, I'm
guessing entry price (new, not an upgrade) will be around $2000. Can

I recently upgrade from MapInfo 4.5 to 5.5 and ever since the
upgrade, I have not been able to convert AV Shape files.
The UT starts translating and abruptly ends with an error.
Has anyone else run into this problem or know of a solution?
TIA

Hi,
I have recently been using the save as option for some final layouts. I
found that the bmp and tiff files did not save that well when inserted into
documents. My solution was to save them as Windows Metafile (.wmf). The
quality was excellent. Hope this can help in some way.

You first need to ascertain what files your publisher can handle.
I obtained our local publishers W98 printer drivers and routinely print to

We have used it extensively -- and successfully -- with VB. We recently got

Providing that you do have 1 column in each table that is unique it can be
done using either:
1) Table->Update Column (and add the replacement column, save the
table, and throw away the corrupt column).
