First, our corporate firewall does not allow access to newsgroups, and I
don't see that changing any time soon. I know there are HTML methods for
reading newsgroups too, but they are not very user friendly.

A newsgroup is a wide open open mailing list, with the main

If you have a decent text editor you could do this yourself.
Eg assuming that your file looks like this:

use a text macro to change the file to:

Recently, several people have asked me if we should consider
starting a MapInfo Usenet newsgroup in addition to (or instead
of) the mailing list we use now. I thought I'd toss it out for
discussion and see what everyone thinks.
First of all, Usenet newsgroups take a little effort to set up.

answer: I'd been using tfwread.mbx to import the tiffs. This was
apparently a bad move.
I am looking for an easier way to split polylines than the conventional

Here is one way to get your lines: First of all, your line file (ie
newline.tab) will need 4 columns with the start and end point information
(I'll call them: x1, y1, x2, y2 where x1,y1 is start point and x2,y2
endpoint). (newline can be created from the files containing the start and
