Thanks for your response Jacques,
Bellow is some code I slapped together to solve the problem, it checks all
open tables for the field "Record_ID" and if it finds the field performs a
search for "RecordID" which is a variable entered by the user.
It is quite messy with a lot of Goto statements a

One of their speciality is Informix/SpatialWare servers.
Informix/SpatialWare is a powerful system designed to work with MapInfo.
You can use Informix/SpatialWare to easiliy manipulate and conduct true GIS
analysis while in MapInfo.
Yes, it's a SQL server.
Regarding the info tool problem ... an easy way to 'get the info window
back' is to use OPTIONS>SHOW MAPBASIC WINDOW and then type in the command:
SET WINDOW INFO POSITION (1,1)
and hit return.

The formulae (Redfearn's formulas for Gauss-Kruger Transverse Mercator) are
in an Excel macro at the Australian Land Information Group's site at
auslig.com. You will have to change the constants to be pertinent for the
UK, but the formulae are there and done. Rather nice job, too.

Its an ArcInfo export file. I use MapInfo 5.5 and under the tools menu there
is a utility called ArcLink that will translate files from MapInfo to ArcInfo

Just a quick question for you.
Is there a way of opening a workspace through mapbasic using a simple
command followed by the workspace name as you can for a table, ie. Open

to open. I did atte
