Dear all,
Many thanks for the help I received on this one, I finally got around
to trying out the solutions this morning! The ones from both
Jacques and Keith Campbell solved my problem. Thanks again and
for reference Jacques solution is included below, with my initial

Do you already have a program (database) with that information in it? If so,
there is an excellent program called GeoBasemap MapLinker (by an Australian
company called Exa-Min) which allows you to hotlink to either standard or
customised applications based on a specific ID. Therefore, yo

Has anyone successfully used MapImagery to display rasters as transparent

documented or undocumented sequence of steps? I'am having no luck.

Andrew, there is a function called
proportionoverlap that will do this for you. You will use the SQL Select
statement. this will be a new column and you list it in the Select
Columns box. The syntax is "proportionoverlap(obj1,obj2)"
MapBasic gurus,
I need a MapBASIC solution to determine if my MBX has been invoked from the
MapInfo command line (i.e. in a shortcut), or loaded from the "Tools" menu
(or "Run a MapBasic program").
This is a cross-platform/cross-version application, so a complete MB
solution is required (no h
J.L.,
Your MB program is trying to call a "user-defined" function, which is not
present in your .mb file. In many cases, this is caused by a typo, but I
often cause it by declaring and using a function/subroutine call, and then
forgetting to write the subroutine ;-).

Joe,
Use the disperse.mbx that comes with MapInfo. It'll give you a few options
for how you'd like to disperse your points with same lat and long (randomly
vs. systematically 'round the clock').
Might wanna make a copy of your table first...

Greetings all,
I remember reading somewhere (I thought it was in the Mapinfo/Mapbasic user
guides) about incorporating an autoload feature in you mapbasic application.
I have searched high and low, and am unable to find any reference to this.
(maybe I read it in another publication)

Hello Mark
RW Net Pro from RouteWare can locate (poly)lines for joining the way you are
describing it (between intersections). Go to www.routeware.dk > Download >
RW Net demo and try function Join. If you have less than 3000 poly(lines) in
your data, you can even do it with the demo. The actual j
