Thanks Peter,
I was missing the "ID 17" as you rightly suggested.
PS
Spooky - If you re-read my original email I misspelled "it" with "id", I
guess I must've subconsciously already known the answer :-)

Hi Peter,
There is no special command to make the Mapper shortcut menu visible. It
will allways be there and shown whenever the user rightclicks inside the
map window. You just have to make sure that you have created the
mappershortcut menu properly like this:
Create Menu "MapperShortcut"
Dear Listers,
I posted a similar question some time ago. Hopefully there are some more
MapXperts out there now.
When preparing map views in MapInfo Pro for output in MapX, labels are
giving me much grief.
Is there a reason MapX will not honour the font, anchor point or the
expression from which a
I assume so but cannot be sure. I do know that with the release of the java
version of MapXtreme MapInfo went to the power unit pricing policy, perhaps
the NT version is not multi-threaded as MapInfo seems to just add on to the
desktop software instead of doing a sensible re-write of the code int
Dear List,
I'm looking for software that bridges the gap between MapInfo's inability
at efficient layout and graphic design. I've had a look at MAPublisher
plug-in for Illustrator and it seems OK once you've mastered Illustrator.
Any other ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings List,
Quick question, I'm porting an MBX from MI Pro to MI Runtime. My
application uses a custom MapperShortcut menu, however id doesn't show under
MI Runtime.
Can anyone tell me what's the equivalent of the "Menu bar Show" command for
a MapperShortcut ?
Thanks,

Dear List
I have 4 layers of cadastre polygons that I would like to
automatically draw a symbol at each of the polygons centroid. Does anyone
know of a mapbasic tool that would make this possible?

I am working with a colleague at a different site who is using

Hi all,
I am currently running MI 6.0 on Windows NT. Every now and then,
while going from the layout window to the map window, my MI locks up. The
task manager says that MI is not responding. I have to close the
application using the task manager. This has not been limited to 6.0. I

Dear All,
I have a small problem that I need to make sense of. Hope somebody can help.
We have a lines table from which we have made a selection based on certain
criteria, and made these records into a query/table. We have opened both the
lines table and the query/table into the same mapper. W

Thanks for the pointer, yes that 'type of thing' will do it. Now all I have
to do is build some MapBasic around the idea so that inexperienced users can
do it for any data table and polygon table.

The State Assembly and Senate have introduced legislation (A9112 and

for GIS data. The bill was introduced in the Assembly this week at the

Hello,
I wanted to have some informations about the following points :
- Is there a limitation of the number of layers contained in a geoset
file ?
- What exactly happens when a geoset is opened by the MapX Broker ? What
is loaded into memory ?
- What are the possible architectures for the

Is anyone aware of a data aggregation tool for MapInfo that will allow a =

The syntax of the Coordsys clause is in one of the appendices
of your MapInfo manuals. *which* appendix differs from
version to version of MapInfo, but it's always titled
"Defining Your Own Coordinate System".
The place to change a table's intrinsic coordinate
system is in a .MIF export file.

I've done this with MapX by passing STREET_A && STREET_B to the Layer.Find.SearchEx()

Tessa,
Type is a reserverd word. You should not use "type" as a field name when
using mapbasic like commands. Try renaming the field type. Then retry
creating the workspace and reopening it. All will be fine.
