Greetings List,
I have a table whos native coordinate system is MGA Zone 55 (GDA 94) (Australian grid).
I am trying to update some columns to contain the CentroidX(obj) CentroidY (obj)
values of the point objects in this table.
The update command works but is returning the values as
As you are using MI 7.0 why not use the new ability to set a default session
projection that allways will be used when handling coordinates (eg. Updating
columns etc.). You can set this projection thru Settings Preferences
Map.
Or you can as allways tell MapInfo which projection to use thru the

think should do all the jobs specified, although like all routing apps it
requires quite a bit of tweaking to set up your road network.

Dear List,
I am looking for a way to store Coordinates in an array to calculate
crossing points.
I know Mapbasic is only able to build up one dimensional Arrays limited to
the depth of ~32000.
Does anybody have an idea what alternatives I have?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.
I have been told but had no chance to prove it that the order in which the
tables are given in the statement can also have an influence. The advice was
to put the smaller one first.

I encountered a similar situation. The way that I overcame it was to
declare a variable type, and then to create an array of that type.

When we had this problem it was due to the fact the other user(not mapinfo)

I've seen that one when two people are trying to edit the same table at the
same time. Sometimes in 6.0 (at least) it does that when two people were
editing the same table in seperate sessions...even if they weren't editing
it at the same exact time. One of them would have to close MapInfo so
In addition to my earlier comments, it could also be that your table is
write-protected. Double check that ALL of the associated files with your
table are not set to 'read only.'

Hello all
We are looking at purchasing the new HP 1700 - If you own this printer what
is your opinion.
Interesting to know if people have a preference when it comes to printing,
HP, Epson, Canon etc. What do you think?
Is there any really good printer comparison documents out there?
Thanks

The only way I know how to do an outer join is by using the table update column. The
table to update being the left side of the join, and the right
side the table to get the data from. Make suer you make the column to update add a

All records from the left side will be
Hello listers,
I am looking for a tool that can do the following:

- offset it (parallel to the original line) by a user-specified distance,
and then
- adjust the segment lengths of this new polyline such that the distance

The MapInfo Manual describes how to do outer joins via a 2 step process ;
1. Run your normal Join query then save this query as a new table using Save
Copy As
2. Open the table and select all records from table B that are not in the
new table. Append this query to the new table.

Cameron,
A VB Project needs to be an ActiveX project when it supports incoming COM
calls. Your normal VB project using Integrated Mapping does not have to be
ActiveX because you are making COM calls to MapInfo. As soon as you use
callbacks, however, MapInfo is calling your application via COM.
