Thanks Melissa I ran the query and there was one record that did not contain an obj, so once that record was removed the code worked fine. I think I may have to monitor how this function goes and place something like the Where clause suggested by Soren into the code to capture any bad records

I just did this with 40 columns of data and 9000 records. Couldn't figure out how to do it in MapInfo, so exported the .dbf, loaded into Excel and used the Summation function to get the row totals. Then exported back into a second .dbf and imported into MapInfo. Gary Clifton
