Hi Ginni,
I created a tool some months ago, that closes all tables not used in any
mapper. Find it here: www.routeware.dk/download/close_unused.zip
You will have to modify it, if it should also check whether or not the
table is within the current view. At least the code should be a good

In an effort to see where MapInfo is going with this dot-NET thing, I have
been fooling around with Microsoft's Visual Studio C# IDE and MapInfo's

development environment really rocks!
I had a few misconceptions about

.NET certainly makes programming very much easier (with the caveat that
there's a lot to learn in order to do it 'properly', the way that the
Framework wants it done).
From what I see in the MapXtreme object model, and its language elements,

Question 1:
The British OS offers 2 samples of ITN layers (GML format) that should
be possible to import into MapInfo 7.5 according to the documentation.
When I get to the point of choosing a layer to import, no layers are
available (empty list). Has anybody been successfull in this area?
Justification works only on multiple line labels and applies then to the
relative position of the lines within a label..
For single line labels, the position of the text (anchor point) is
calculated (with the specified font) by positioning the centre of the string
on the (possibly) offset

All,
Thanks to those of you who replied to this one especially Brendan O'Donovan
who hit the nail on the head. Brendan told me the following:
MapInfo cannot rotate raster images if an east west line on the raster image
is rotated slightly as could happen in slightly sloppy scanning, MapInfo
will
Jay,
Looking at your code the last for..next loop will close ALL open tables
because you not testing if the inUse() flag has been set for each table. If
you change it to the following it should work (MapInfo doesn't crash and the
tables are closed):
For i = 1 to numtabs
If NOT InUse(i)
Map is 36x53 with 300 points in each of two layers. I've trsfd the labels
using autolabeler for each layer at a font size 1, saved cosmetic objects to
2 tables and then hand drawn where the labels should be with arrows in
appropriate.
I can add a column to the label table and get the text
