I was faced with a table of multi-section plines, each
one representing a contour line; the gaps were originally used by text objects
showing the altitude. The idea was to make single section plines by filling the
gaps with line segments.

This should be possible. Using the VM Trim function of the VM SDK

Try http://www.epsg.org - They have some documentation and a database to
look up the projection.
EPSG 4326 WGS84 Lat/Long Degrees, -180 == +180
I think the MapInfo equivalent is Lat/Long WGS84.
Cheers Ian

Hi, I am trying to set the square kilometer value of a given polygon.
Like when I deal with a line where I can draw one and overwrite its length,
selecting and double clicking on it.
Sometimes I have a polygon to say a rectangle and I want to shrink its size
for example
From 570 km2 to 532
List folk,
I was wondering whether anyone working with MapInfo Pro (currently V8 but also with 7.8) is experiencing similar problems as I have been for some time.
Briefly, these actions cause MapInfo to freeze constantly such that the platform cannot be relied upon to continue operation
G'day Bill,
Sorry to hear you still have the problem.
We solved 99% of ours by switching the NVIDIA graphics card to a Matrox
Millennium P650 PCIe 128Mb.
May also be network access/traffic slowing up large files - we experience
this with statewide road networks.
Good Luck
Greg.
