The new version of CrimeStat is compatible with MapInfo and adds several new

introduction to spatial statistics. CrimeStat 3 does not work with windows 98.

I suggest that you use CrimeStat. It reads dat files. It will calculate a
Moran's I and Geary's C and test significance. It also has several clustering
routines with monte carlo simulation. It is available FREE at

Your suggestion nearly worked. Intersects resulted in a lot of streets that only
intersected a travel path being counted. Because the robber's travel path exactly
coincided with the street network, I could use entirely within in the SQL and get
the correct results.

Is it possible to change the color of directional arrows on lines? Neither the shape
of a centroid or the shape or color of a line direction seems to be changeable.

I am working on the new journey to crime module in Crimestat. I would like to count
the number of offenders that travel along each street line segment from home to
incident. I have the base Chicago street map and a layer of travel paths. The paths
goes from node to node along the street grid
No need for a buffer. The paths follow the street segments exactly.
I will try to adopt your suggestion.

In the kgm utilities is the tab-geog mbx. This utility automatically adds longitude
and lattitude to a point database. I have found it very useful when doing
statistical analysis in another program and to restore the information back to mapinfo
after completing analysis.

All the export script does is create temporary dbase, tab and id files that can be
read by Mapinfo. It is one way. They have to be reimported into spss with a loss of
labeling info.
