I am trying to do this from MB, using the CreateText
statement, I've tried many combinations but it either just
displays the point or nothing at all. Can u add a
label/text without creating a new table???

create a table for your point objects with a text (character) column, put
the desired text into this column, then use it to label your points. Then
you can then set the point style to 'none' (the top left symbol in the chose
