Respected Ray,
If the storage charging discharging cost is to be find out on basis of 24
hourly profile , what isvthe method or is there any way to know hourly cost in
MOST .
Will be thanful for your response.

If you are using ex_storage.m to set up your storage unit(s), you can simply
change the ecap and pcap values at the top of the file to set the energy and
power capacity of the storage, respectively.

Respected Ray ,
I am using storage in my case , if the capacity of storage is to change to 20%
of load , how and where should I make the changes in ex_storage file ?
Will be thankful for your sugestions.

Dear Dr. Ray and Ahmed,
This is true from what Dr. Ray said before. I have done a similar project
before to handle the energy storage management integrated into a
distribution network by using the DC OPF, then modifying dcopf module by
extending the corresponding matrix for the customized
aggregate system. Then you
can customize the OPF of that system to include user-defined variables, costs
and constraints to represent the storage.

Hello,
I am trying to use Matpower in the sizing of energy storage integrated into a
distribution network. So, what I want to determine are the charging/discharging
power and the energy capacity of the energy storage.
I understand that I can modify the objective function, and add variables and
f bus matrix, or a generator with PMIN=PMAX) to

You can use a zero cost generator to represent solar and a fixed injection
(either PD column of bus matrix, or a generator with PMIN=PMAX) to represent
storage. Optimizing dispatchable storage is inherently a multiperiod problem,
so if that’s what you

Hi all,

Since storage ties problems together in time, it does not apply to
single-period power flow or optimal power flow, but rather only to the
multi-period optimizations handled by MOST (e.g multiperiod economic dispatch,
multiperiod OPF, unit commitment).

Thank you so much for your information.
Moreover, the energy storage is it applicable for power flow or only for
optimal power flow because of the inequality and equality constraints??

Yes, the storage formulation can be used for any system you like. I suggest you
study the tutorial examples that include storage to understand how.

Dear Friends,
I am curious if its is possible to use the energy storage that exist in the

Also i would like to learn if it is possible to see the equations on the
implementation of the energy storage.

Currently, I believe the only way to dissipate energy from the storage (as
opposed to discharging into the grid) is via the LossFactor described in Table
5-2. This factor can be modified per period using a profile, but it’s defines
the fraction of the stored energy that is dissipated, as
Hello,
I am looking to model a more ‘portable’ storage unit (like an EV) in MOSTs UC
(stochastic). I am using the ‘commitKey’ to simulate that the storage is
disconnected, or at least not available during that time period. During this
time period, I would like to reduce the SoC of the storage
time or make it
quadratic or something.

Hey everyone,
I have a question regarding how storage is calculated for each time step
during an economic dispatch run. I am attempting to simulate a 24-hour
economic dispatch followed by hourly re-dispatch of units with an updated
load forecast. With an identical forecast, I would assume that
