on i386, older versions of MaxDB 7.5.00 don't work any more in Debian
unstable due to the switch to glibc 2.5/2.6 which does not support the
old linuxthreads threading implementation any longer.
Since MaxDB 7.5.00 can be configured at the source level to use the
newer NPTL implementation

As I've seen this problem seems quite usual for maxdb under Linux due
to the thread handling.
It trigger when you issue something like: dbmcli -u dbm,dbm -d DEMODB db_online
