That wasn't the rule. Yes, recording will always set the SCMS bits, but it
won't necessarily set them

Hi. If I remember correctly it is the MD recorder that adds the SCMS. If
that is correct, then either you have a one of a kind recorder or the copy is

It is my understanding that computers aren't required to set the SCMS bits.

I own a Sony MDS-JE510, and it does one thing that irks me: when I seek
backwards in a song (that is, while a song is playing, I press the
backwards seek button), the player will go backwards a few seconds
(depending, of course, on how long I hold it), then jump forward several,

I'm just curious whether or not there are any prerecorded MDs in mono
using the entire 148 minutes available. This could be ideal and a great
bargain for some oldies from the first part of the 1900s.

Is it true that some units have problems playing 80-minute MDs. If so,
what happens? Thanks, guys gals.

it would also be great for audiobooks...
I usually record mine to MD for convenience. hmm. 9 tapes

I don't think you will find any pre-recorded md's like this - the md market

FWIW, I have recorded quite a number of mono discs - filled them up with
old mono vinyl and mono radio recordings.

I believe you are correct, because this problem just bit me in the butt. I
