How can I tell if a Minidisc recording was digitally recorded or not?
Obviously if the levels are all over the place and there are no track marks
you would know l but how (without using high tech lab kit) can I ditinguish
a competently executed analogue recording from a digital one?
Yep try making a digital copy of it. If you can't it is a digital copy
on a consumer grade machine. IF you can, it is probably an analog
recording or someone had the use of a pro grade machine or a SCMS
stripper.
