I've had mine for 2 weeks now and love it. I understand the noise thing you're
bringing up but
really don't find it that noticeable - with all the talk about it before I bought the
unit, I
was quite concerned. After getting the unit, I was relieved to find that it wasn't
nearly as bad
(IMHO)
I have the Xitel card and use it to record MP3s to MD happily under
Win98. There are two Linux drivers for the card: one from Aureal and one
