MD: 650MB Minidiscs

Perhaps this has been addresses before (and I imagine many times), so I apologize for bringing this up one more time. I heard about the 650MB MDs a while back, but they weren't in use at that point. Though I recently noticed Sony is using them in one of their camcorders. This makes me wonder
