I currently use multiple addaptors for mine, from my sony cd-walkman (4.5v
500ma), from my casio HPC (5v 2a), and from my casio digital camera (6v
1.5a). Yes I live dangerously, but screw it they all are working sharing
each others addaptors.

I use a Sony AC adaptor for my 702. It converts 240VAC to 4.5VDC,
supplies 700mA and charges my unit for me too! And it cost me twenty
quid, instead of the 110 quid that Sharp UK wanted for a transformer.

If you are handy with a soldering iron there's an easy fix.
Buy a 6v @ 800ma adaptor and a 5 volt regulator...
This little three pin device will hold the 6v at a regulated 5v independent
of load...
This is what I had to do to run my Sharp 702 as the Japanese p/s is n/g in
Australia.
