what distribution are you using as a buildhost?
At first i had all kinds of trouble running MIC2 on the native Linux,
including your error if I remember correctly.
Since I'm using a Fedora 13 VM, it works like a charm.

You need the right version of syslinux on your system. The best way to
update your system is to download the package from
http://repo.meego.com/MeeGo/tools/repos/ and build it. Choose your
distribution accordingly e.g. for Ubuntu 10.04:

Good point, I missed that. But why does mic2 then give him the error message
Error: failed to create image : Failed to find package 'syslinux' :
No package(s) available to install.?
Is that a bug of mic2 and can be ignored?

Arm image doesn't need syslinux in repo, but syslinux has been installed on
your machine when you installed mic2, I think your system is
