What property of the cavity are you trying to simulate?
e.g. are you simulating and experiment? In an experiment, the light
source is probably not within the photonic crystal. e.g. it may be
coming from the air outside a finite photonic crystal. In that case,
you would normalize by the i
Hello,
I'm modeling an optically very anisotropic material, having the components
of the permittivity tensor varying in space continuously, with some
(localized) regions of quite strong gradients.
The component values on space points (of a regular cubic grid) are not
defined with any algebraic fu
Dear meep users,
I read the units and nonlinearity in meep wiki pages but I am a bit confused.
I want to get delta_n=0.03.
Therefore, following parameters are used in the ctl file.(my lattice
constant a=1um)
n2=10E-6
and related kerr parameter is
chi(3)=7.053x10E-6
n=2.3 (linear index)

Hi,
I'm trying to simulate a laser pulse falling on a dielectric structure
and don't really know where to find the necessary information.
What I am especially looking for is how to define the spectral
properties of the laser pulse. How can I for example simulate a few
cycle pulse?
And how I can
Hi Paolo,
It is still not clear to me what you are trying to calculate. Maybe the
flux-region is not the correct way to calculate the spectrum you’d like to get.
Do you have a reference to a paper that can clarify things or a more detailed
description of your problem.
