No, unless you like skinned knuckles. It has to be something flat so it will not slip off. Those bolts should not be tight but may be corroded. It helps to leave the serpentine belt in place to help hold the pulley. Hendrik who doesn't like skinned knuckles but always ends up with them -

Oh yeah, I should mention that the seller of the 240 we bought was asking, and I quote, at least $3000 or more. I had to slowly over the course of weeks convince him that that's not really what they go for. We had weeks because he wasn't actively trying to sell it - he'd pulled it off the
