My brother wants to replace the injection pump on his 300D -- on
plunger set spills fuel all the time, no matter what the engine crank
angle is, so I'm thinking it's toast (could just be seals, but it's
expensive to find out).
I know these are rather uncommon, but if anyone has one for sale,
Valve stem seals are the first suspect, but I'd check valve to guide
clearance when replace the seals. If the valve stem will move
sideways in the guide when off the seat enough to feel it, the guide
is shot.
I've also seen guides loose in the head, what a scary thought. You

Lots of different types of block heaters are available. Some go in the rad
hose. Some are magnetic and stick on the

Unfortunately my SA spec OM617 does not have a threaded hole for the block
heater - there is a normal welsch plug .

The guy had offered 4 cords for the car. That was at $150 a cord a price which
is apparently no longer valid... That was before I got the car, replaced the
exhaust, replaced the fog lights, fixed the drivers door lock and got the
sunroof all the way

A leak down test might be better. Apply air and see what leaks. Exhaust =
valve. Dipstick = rings. Etc.

Manual sunroof.. I always called it a poor man's Mercedes. It is
everything a 240D shoulda been. Turbo, 5 speed with a sunroof and
cheap to run.
