I have had an 82 van with 6.2 and still have a 95 that I put a 6.5 into. I like the 6.5 better as it has a bit more power. Both have a 700R4 and had to have each one rebuilt. The guy who did the work knows the tricks so both have gone over 100Kmi. I would probably still like a 5 speed standard
