I had to buy a 1 13/16" socket to get the strainer out of the bottom of the
tank in the '78 SLC after it sat for two years. I had to grind down the
outside rim to get it thin enough to fit in the hole in the bottom of the

Removing the glass from the carrier is one BIG PITA.
I don't know what Papa Benz uses for the glue but I think it's

In photo MWC-023 you can see the solder joints between the bottom PC board and
side boards. These are the ones that develop cracks over the years and need to
be reflowed.

ACC? It finally got to the point today where slapping the side of the
console will not keep the fan running.
I have the ACC with the horizontal buttons and the vertical fan speed
buttons, with a narrow translucent "auto" button

use that configuration - if yours is such you'll need proper cables to
