Keep in mind that the actual weight limit depends on how far you
extend the arm. I have their 2-ton unit and it's only rated for 500lbs
when fully extended. That's the position you need to use when pulling
an engine from a W140.

You could pull the reg/brush set and look at it. I had one time that
the non-Bosch brush set didn't seat well and one brush broke off. IF
the shaft is rough or worn badly it can eat brushed. IF the former,
you can try new brushes again. If the latter, replace the alt.
