One thing I've noticed, is that a Mercedes that's accurately described and
fairly priced tends to sell quickly. If you ever see one on the market for
months, or continually being re-listed, it's either overpriced or something is
wrong that has not been disclosed.

What a classy color combination! Seems like a fantastic deal and I'm
sure she'll sell quickly. I'd buy her if you were on the West

the engine fast enough long enough to start at that temp.
60x engine is a whole different story.

Did you ever try the hair dryer in the intake trick?
I took the block plug out of my 220D with an 18 1/2 drive breaker bar and a

I'm loosing fluid.
I just cleaned the pump and tank area, no evidence of leaks there.
I don't see any evidence of leaks along the lines, at the valve,
at the accumulators, or at the shocks.
This is oil - not air. There should be a trace of it leaking!
Unless it's leaking into the crank

Philip, et al.
There is a rebuild kit available from Rusty for the 123 wagon pump. The
pump can lose its' seals and get engine oil in the reservoir. So maybe
it can leak the other way too?

Unless it's leaking into the crank case... Is that possible?
Yes. I had one that did this. There is a shaft seal
on the inside that can leak down into the timing chain vault.
There is also a high-pressure front seal that can leak,
but that one is kinda obvious!

The 617 in the '76 300D started great with M1 at -5, but would hardly crank
with dino oil without the engine heater.
ou are right - the 60x engines are a whole different story - great engines
all around.
