Rick, several years ago, I had a BIG problem with an '87 300D lock that
absolutely would NOT turn, in spite of several days of jiggling it, lubing
it, etc. Before calling a dealer/stealer to pick the car up and paying him
$700 or so to grind the lock out, though, I attached a key to a vibrating

From what I remember, to take out the steering lock, you turn the key
to Position 2, then loosen the clamp on the neck of the steering
lock. There is a ball detent on the outside that has to be pushed
in. It was a bear to get the thing loose with the lock attached on a
car I got without a key
No need for a .pdf just to remove the lock cylinder. Turn the key to position
1 (unlocked but accessories off). Lift the sleeve with a hooked probe til it
touches the key. Turn key back to position 0 and remove key and cover. Put
the key back in, insert a probe of some sort in the hole to un

Insert paper clip into the small hole in the grey/silver portion of the
ignition. (If the paper clip will not insert into the hole, try key

Feel the resistance of the lock as you push the button in.
