I don't recall how many Ohms a good plug is, but it's quite low, maybe
.01 or something like that? Might be hard for a cheap meter to read
accurately.
0.6 ohms. Better yet is a 20A old-style dash ammeter, you
can watch it heat and see that they all 'track'.

Yes, check the fuse and plugs first. Resistance should be 0.7 ohm
using the procedure Allan described. Less indicates a shorted
plug(likely to take out the fuse strip) More likely is resistance
higher than 0.9 ohm, which indicates a bad plug.

It is instructive to slap the meter leads together and notice
your base reading. It's not usually zero, for a meter that is

It's not as important to ream out the pencil type plug holes, but
it's still a good idea, as you can short to ground and burn out a new
plug if there are large amounts of carbon built up.
On series plugs, a carbon short will instantly burn the wire loop,
especially fast if it's #5 or #4 --
Very nice. But you are the second owner right? I think it is deceptive to
list a car as one owner if you did not buy it brand new. Might make
someone ready to drop $10K on a used car turn right away.

One or two bad glow plugs will cause the light to be intermittent or not

There are two failure modes for pencil type glow plugs. Well, three
really.
One, the filament breaks (no continuity) and fails to heat.
Two, the filament sags and contact the side of the pencil. Lower
resistance, heats but not at the tip, won't fire the fuel mist.
Three, the resistance
Thus, the usefulness of a good multimeter. It allows you to pick up
high resistance in the GP.
When the resistance goes high, then the current goes low, thus you
have a plug that does not get hot enough. Most of the time they just
go open, so any cheap meter or even a continuity light will
