For my 1983 240D, I had to replace the 10 1/2 " long alligator/cigar hose
with a PnP hose that I had in pretty good shape. Question is , I have a
new one that is 12 3/4 " long.
Anybody know the correct model /year this longer hose is for ?? Jabba ??

I would defer to Gary's advice, as one of the last things I bought form Rusty
was a set of motor mounts for the W140. I was insistent that I have OEM part,
as the motor mounts in the W140 are notoriously nasty to replace.
I got what I was told were Lemforders, but I now know they were Chinese
I don't know the brands.
Back when I was less discriminating (8+ years ago) I bought a lot of stuff
on ebay. The "new" SD motor mounts were not an improvement but several
rubber bits that I installed in my 79 TD were great; it rode like a new car.

Larry: Do you know if non MB-spec antifreeze was ever run in that radiator?
Rumor has it that certain non-spec antifreeze types are MBZ radiator
plastic.

Tell me about it. Replaced all the driveline support rubber from Rusty
on '83 300TD just before he closed shop. Now I can "feel" every piston
fire when car idles; shakes the whole car. Never had that happen with
previous rubber; even after years of driving with it.

Sounds like as much fun as the timing belt driven water pump on my
Volvo TD. Worst part of that job is setting the injection timing!

I am constantly amazed how my 32-year-old SD has almost all of the useful
features of the newest cars with few of the drawbacks (except the sun roof).
But there are some wear areas that could use help.
