So, i found a meter and the Uro voltage regulator is charging correctly
And so, i shouldn't use a $6 Uro voltage regulator because it is no good and a
german Bosch regulator failed and cooked my battery?
I see there is a Hueco brand …. who is that?
says made in germany

I've gotten 53 mpg with the 2012 Passat - there's your improvement (not
much, but - -). The cars are heavier now so not as many people die in
crashes as they did in the '70's, hence even maintaining the fuel economy
is an improvement. Comparing a '70's car to one today is apples to oranges.

Less pollution! Well, no, they've got to cheat to get less pollution

I'm about 1/2 way through my first tank on my wagon after adjusting the

I tried 35 to start, then 38 for the trip. I'll put them to 40 for a week of

I don't think an alignment is going to improve mileage too much, unless it
is so bad that your are really chewing up your tires. Can't hurt, but I
wouldn't think the improvement will be more than 3% or maybe 5%. Inflate
your tires to max sidewall pressure and keep your foot off the go pedal,

The Golf is smal though. Smaller than a 190D. My '85 190D got 43mpg on
its best tank. The Golf is much quicker though.
My '98 Jetta's best tank was 53mpg. I think the Golf needs an alignment too,
what are the odds and alignment would help mileage? I think new calipers will
help. The stic

Gotcha.
The S500 coupe had a salvage title. Made it a lot cheaper, and I knew the
reason why, which helped.
I haven’t been scared by salvage titles, but you certainly have to do your due
diligence. With our older cars it’s not uncommon to find them, as one hit in

Good LORD! That old and not changed. Mine were leaking at 130k and needed

Took my '05 Golf to Hannibal, New York Friday for a "True North Lantern
Enthusiast" weekend. About 550 miles round trip. Averaged 42mpg which is lower
than I'd like but on the NY Throughway I held it right to 80mph and as we came
through Vermont on Rt 9 the hills and lower speeds would have cost
I'm with Dan, Uro has a very bad reputation. If the voltage regulator
over-charges, that can kill your battery and maybe other electrical components
as well. Not worth the risk.
I'd use Bosch from junkyard before I'd use Uro.

Bosch will probably be Indian, as in from India.
I hate to pick nits, and one could certainly argue the economics of this, but I
would probably opt for the Bosch since it’s got some semblance of quality
control in place.

I think acid might also work well.
I've heard that putting concrete powder on it and letting that soak it up over
